Since being incorporated in 2015, Norkem’s South African wing, Norkem Chemicals SA (PTY) Limited, has gone from strength to strength. And that ongoing success story has led to the team seeking out new premises due to ongoing expansion and staff growth.
After three years calling offices at the historic M01 Building on Baker Square in Cape Town home, the team has moved to new, more spacious and modern office space at Titanium House, not far away in the same neighbourhood of Paardevlei, Somerset West.
The move continues the exciting times for our colleagues in South Africa, as the team looks forward to bigger and better things growing Norkem’s profile across Africa.
The Norkem Group initially developed business connections in Sub-Saharan African countries, supplying products used in floatation and beneficiation processes in the mining sector. Then, many years before establishing a local offshoot, we started sourcing raw materials from mineral-rich South Africa for distribution to our global markets.
But as South Africa’s economy grew and domestic demand for products we supply increased, it became apparent that the country could prove to be a lucrative import as well as export market for the Group.
And so it has proven, with steady growth in sales across the agrochemical (fertiliser), animal feed and aquaculture sectors in particular triggering a repeated need to grow our team. The ready availability of high-quality materials fits perfectly with our commitment not only to sourcing the best products available for our global clients, all rigorously quality checked and accredited to international standards, but also to maintaining reliable supply in increasingly volatile global markets.
We wish our colleagues in South Africa every success in the future!
