Material: Potassium Metabisulphite is used in the photographic industry as a component of developer bath. In the food industry it us used as an additive (E224), preservative, antioxidant and antimicrobic for fruits (dried, glazed and candled), vegetables (onions, potatoes, etc.), juices (citrus and grapes) and fish (shrimps and prawns). Other applications are found in drinking water treatment (to remove excess chlorine) and in chemical synthesis in the production of vitamins, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc.
