Global chemical stockist and distributor Norkem have announced they will enter the Sports and Health Nutrition sector of the food industry.
Norkem who achieved a turnover of €200m for the year ending 2014 already have a strong focus on the European Food and Drink industry selling a wide range of chemical ingredients and additives.
Head of Norkem’s Food and Drink team Jonathan Wiper commented that the addition of new products to service the Sports and Health Nutrition sector complement the current range of products on offer; ‘We already stock and supply a wide range of Vitamins, Minerals and Amino Acids to both the Food and Animal Feed Industries, so branching out into the Sports and Health nutrition sector is the perfect addition to our portfolio”.
The global Sports and Health Nutrition sector continues to grow annually and recent figures suggest the industry may be worth around $37.7bn by 2019. Traditionally restricted to professional athletes and body builders, consumers are increasingly taking advantage of a range of sports drinks, energy and protein bars, shakes and powders to aid their lifestyle and recreational pursuits.
With the addition of further members of staff to its European QHSE teams, Norkem are able to offer their products and services to an increasing number of heavily regulated industry sectors.
