Sales Coordinator – Food Team

It is important that you learn about the business from the ground up and gain exposure to different areas of the business. That is why Norkem will give you a varied role and all the training and support you need. Initially, you will learn about the company’s systems and procedures to become proficient in, for example, raising contracts for existing business partners. You will eventually become responsible for a range of clients and look after their day-to-day needs. Later, you will be actively involved in the sales process by quoting & prospecting for new business. There is no ‘price list’ in our business, so the sales cycle is exciting as you get to negotiate regularly with clients & suppliers.

For this role Norkem want someone who can think outside-the-box, be self-motivated, well organised, committed, enthusiastic, can demonstrate attention to detail, confidence to liaise with a wide range of clients, staff and suppliers by telephone and email and can work as part of a team.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Experience of SAP an advantage but not essential.

Previous experience in a sales or administrative role is preferred but not essential.

Initial Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Sales administration: Responsible for raising contracts with suppliers and customers, planning deliveries, stock management, complaint management.
  • Quoting clients: Dealing with commodity prices, exchange rates, changing market circumstances etc. to formulate & prepare quotations.
  • Following up on quotations, leads and furthering business development. Generating interest and obtaining commitment from prospective customers to progress business to the next step.
  • Close collaboration with the suppliers, other sales teams, logistics, shipping and accounts departments to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Progression opportunities within Norkem are extensive and very clear. Once you have proven yourself in the current role you may have the chance of promotion within the commercial department or other roles within the business.
